  1. I am 21+, and therefore will not write with anyone under the age of 21 (18+ is ok but nothing romantic/ERP). if I suspect you to be lying to be about your age, or see you admit otherwise, I will blacklist you immediately. No ifs, ands, or buts.

  2. In-Game Name: Aster Starcrest (This is the best way to get in contact with me if we do not share a Discord server!)

  3. My pronouns are They/Them, and He/Him is reserved only for close friends. Thank you for your care and respect in this!

  4. I am an AuDHD writer who tends to forget things rather easily. Things become easier to process for me personally with more time and repetition, so if I do ask for clarification or something of the sort, all I ask for is patience! I will do the same in return. ♥

  5. My character has his own stories, background plots, and things of that nature. Naturally, I am certain that your characters also have the same. That will be respected. As an addendum, both my character and I are respectful and mindful of others' backgrounds, pronouns, etc.

  6. My character does not exist for ERP solely. While I believe it is a facet of the storytelling process, I believe that it has a time and a place. I have very hard no's when it comes to interactions, and ERPing for the sake of ERPing is not something I care to do. Thank you for understanding.

  7. TW: MENTIONS OF TRIGGERING SUBJECTS. On the subject of hard no's in roleplay and personal interactions, please do not approach me if you engage in any of the following activities: P*dophilia/ageplay, lolicon, futanari, Lalafell nsfw, bad-end/descriptive gore. I will not interact with you if you engage in racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, terf rhetoric, xenophobia, or other things in the same vein.

  8. PLEASE DO NOT MAKE OOC ADVANCES ON ME DUE TO OUR ROLEPLAY. I am not Aster, and our roleplay is simply that. If I catch any instance of IC/OOC bleeding, I will cut it there and blacklist as needed.

  9. While I love a good romance as much as any other person, Aster has enough established relationships. There may be times where there are exceptions, but please do not approach Aster with the sole intent of starting a romantic or sexual relationship with him!

Hello there! I'm Kachi, the player behind Aster Starcrest. Thanks for your interest in my character and his story!   personality.     Aster's one of those people who you can look at and not think too much of at first glance, but when he gets to talking, he's a downright chatterbox. Bubbly, friendly, and personable, Aster's the kind of person who'll sooner approach you and ask you directions to the nearest eatery and be gone in a flash before you know it.As flighty and chatty as he is, he's also oftentimes rather introspective, taking the moment to calm down and really get into the surroundings, bask in the present and etch it into his memory. He'll tell you he does it so he doesn't get lost, but in reality, he's just savouring it. Nothing more to it.While he's definitely not the sort of person to shy away from his feelings in any capacity, Aster wears his heart on his sleeve. If someone's in need, he'll try and do all he can to help them. If someone's happy, Aster's liable to jump for joy himself, and if someone's sad, Aster will share the tears with them, too. Empathy is often touted as a curse, but he doesn't think so.When it comes to matters of the heart, Aster is woefully unprepared to handle situations outside of his current loves. While he's open to the idea, the thought of dating someone outside of his childhood friends is a bit... exhausting to him. But he will always give people an earnest shot.

headcanon one. Aster has a phenomenal singing voice, one he uses seldomly. Though rare when he performs, it's a beautiful thing to witness.
headcanon two. If he loves you, he'll make you food. That is one of his greatest love languages.
headcanon three. Aster will tell you the furniture in his homes moves itself around from time to time - believe him. It's true.

font of aether. Aster was born on a ley line, and thusly contains within him the unmitigated aetheric capacity of said ley line. He's incredibly powerful and potent at magic, and has aether to spare - a veritable aetheric battery.
pulse of life. Gifted with the Echo at an early age, his blessing comes not solely in the three standards that are the staple of being Echo-blessed. He has the unique capacity to hear and interact with the spirits of nature and objects. This also manifests in being able to speak with and guide the departed to the Lifestream, as well as directly manipulate the Lifestream to a degree should he so choose.
happy alchemist. With his Echo, Aster has learned to listen to the voices of the things he gathers on his journeys. He turns them into what they desire to become, and in doing so, bypasses equivalent exchange. This process does take more time, but it's his preferred method, and the one that brings him the most success.

tales from the dawn.

LORE : origin .

No loud fanfare nor joyous cheer would resound upon Aster's birth. Where usually a parent cries in joy, Aster's birth was met with unusual silence born from resentment. His mother, unable to use Aster's birth as a monetary gain in Ishgard, was cast out with the newborn half-elezen blasphemy she called a child to the highlands of Coerthas and, for two weeks, she wandered down to Vylbrand, boarding a ship bound for a small island in the Cieldalaes called Lohgrin. It was a quiet little island with a decently-sized village and kind enough people, but the woman, she cared not. Knowing Lohgrin would be the way back to her homeland, she sought passage across the salt, back to her true love, back to Tural. And while she did indeed return to her homeland, she made sure to abandon her 'mistake' in Lohgrin, leaving him swaddled in a guest bed for the innkeeper to find. The woman never gave so much as a name, and so, her story was consigned to oblivion.Aster's story, however, was only just beginning. As a young child, he was taken care of by the kind strangers-turned-family of the innkeeper, and by all the residents of Lohgrin. He had been the first child to become a resident of the islet in quite a long while, and so he was fairly alone for most of his early years. He learned arithmetic and received proper schooling from the visitors to Lohgrin's Beacon, the port of the island itself where many came as a stopping point on their voyages. He grew up quite well-educated, and devoted himself not just to his studies in the practical and the mundane, but in the magical as well.Sure enough, as good as Aster was with a broom and with tending to the gardens and people of the inn, he was even better with magic, eventually learning to use it for the betterment of the inn itself. Magic would water the plants, and sweep the floors and Aster gently honed his craft with each little chore. It was simple, but it was good for him.Upon his 5th year, his life would change in a way no one could've ever predicted. Two Gyr Abanians fleeing what was a conflict brewing in the northeast of Eorzea would arrive to the island, the older of the pair, no older than 16, dropped off the young Miqo'te who seemed to have given up his tribal name and opted for the name Dorian. This 'Dorian,' one year younger than him, would come to be his first real childhood friend, one close enough to his age where childhood things suddenly became feasible, and real. And then, one year later, both would come to know a boy just one year older than Aster by the name of Cyrus Starcrest. This new friend had gone through quite the ordeal, and his father chose to let him live out his days in peace - it seemed that the turmoil in Gyr Abania reached a head, and now the Garlean Empire took over. How curious for three children to learn of such things when they should've simply been enjoying their childhoods.

But as ever, the inexorable march of time could not be denied. Aster continued to grow up alongside Dorian and Cyrus, eventually welcoming in the fourth member of their act, a young man the same age as Aster known as Soren. He and his older sister Carina were the children of a merchant family that was seeking to set down roots wherever they could. The father, choosing to head north to Ishgard took Carina with him, and kept close and frequent correspondence with his wife and Soren. For two years, all was well, until Soren's mother developed an illness and, unable to find the medicines in time, succumbed to the illness, leaving Soren alone on Lohgrin at the age of 11. But even these problems felt miniscule as one larger, more looming presence revealed itself to all.The red moon, Dalamud, was to fall. And the island of Lohgrin saw a sudden shortage of ships leaving and arriving at the port town. The days turned to months, and finally, in a raging cataclysm, the night of the moon's fall came. He remembers it even now, how powerful it rang in his ears - the primal Bahamut's roar in indignant rage. He remembered the shards of the moon falling and creating surges and waves that destroyed parts of the port in their entirety. He remembers seeking higher ground, then having to hide in caves... And he remembers the dawn that came after, the promise of a new tomorrow. A new Umbral Era had begun, but it was still the start of something entirely new. A change had taken place over the course of a singular night.Time continued marching, and in those years, Aster honed his magic further, five years of extra training on top of all his duties seeing him grow as a mage, yet never as a person... Indeed, while Soren, Dorian and Cyrus began to grow tall and large, Aster remained... quite short. Was he doomed to this? Was he not actually half-Elezen, but half-Lalafell?! Such thoughts plagued his mind, but eventually, all those thoughts melted away as he became resolute in his path. One day, he'd resolve himself and speak up at their usual dinner chats."...I'm leaving Lohgrin as soon as the ships start taking to the seas again." Aster proclaimed, telling all 3 of his childhood friends that very same day. Returning home, he'd pack what he could and immediately play the waiting game. Two weeks would go by, and eventually ships returned to help with rebuilding the port and to ferry people to Vylbrand or whichever other coast they deigned was safer. And as Aster waited for his ship to allow him to board, he felt the familiar footsteps rocking the small pier, and behind him with bags packed were his three best friends. At 16 years old, Aster set out with Cyrus, Dorian, and Soren to brave the realm reborn. And never once did he look back. Someday, he'd return, but he'd return with tales to tell, surely.

LORE : a realm reborn .

Setting sail was quite possibly the easiest part of their whole endeavor. Once they landed on Vylbrand's shores, all four of them immediately set off to seek out what each wanted to do. Aster chose in this moment that he was going to pursue his magical studies, but first... First, they needed somewhere to stay. Unfortunately for Aster, his gil purse (along with the purses of all the other fellows in his entourage) were quite sparse, and so lodgings were meager, if at all existing. Most days they spent camping out outside the city, keeping watch and cooking what they foraged and hunted. It was a gentler existence than one might think, despite the incomprehensible damage that the Calamity had done.Aster took very eagerly to arcanima, throwing himself into the arithmetic and geometries of it all... And found that while he could perform it, to be sure, he was absolutely terrible at it for the most part. It took him the better part of a year to summon a carbuncle, and while that was an achievement all its own, he still took three years after his studies began to master arcanima on his own. But outside of the arcanima, he also wandered to Eorzea's actual landmass with Cyrus, spending his second year in Ul'dah to train alongside the man in thaumaturgy, and when Aster provided the idea of studying conjury in Gridania, Cyrus was all too eager. By this point, all of them had enlisted in the adventurer's guild when Dorian hit 16, and were all making steady money. Thanks to Soren's business sense, they were able to secure a small two bedroom apartment in Ul'dah's 'nice' area, and all of them went back to training and taking on jobs. Slowly but surely, their lives were transforming.

Each of them caught wind that something was brewing in the north, in Ishgard's direction. Tales were told that those who enlisted in an endeavor to stop the dragons from advancing would gain entry into the city proper, and be allowed to establish themselves in the Holy See. Soren agonized at this - he'd known how long it had been since his father and sister had gone to Coerthas and Ishgard proper. Could they still have been there? It was a question that he thought, but only Aster deigned to vocalize. So finally, girding himself, he once again proclaimed that he was going to enlist and fend off the dragons himself! He expected the others to call him a fool and talk him down, but surprisingly, they stuck by him. At the Steps of Faith, their two years of training came to fruition and all of them came out of that battle unharmed. With victory in hand, they celebrated, and for the first time in their lives, gave cheers and thanks for the strengths each of them possessed. With a few signed papers, the apartment in Ul'dah was vacated, their carriage was packed, and Aster, with his new chocobo friend Pana set off towards Ishgard, holding out hope that the city would have much to offer in the time since it had closed. He wondered how it would be. The Calamity had rather drastically changed the environment, so he stayed up quite a few nights worrying about their arrangements and their clothing and their medicine stores. Perhaps it'd be insufficient, but... He wouldn't let the others know. They were his friends. And no matter what, he'd take care of them.

LORE : heavensward .

Cold. Cold. FAR too cold for the likes of him and his friends. Aster almost lamented how his choices and brazen attitude led them all to this snowscape of bitterness, and yet, he wasn't one to be deterred. The moment he found out about the Athenaeum Astrologicum, he was practically all but lost to the whims of magic and his pursuit of it. That very first day, while Soren found them a decent home to live at during their stay, Aster enlisted into the Astrologians' Guild immediately, beginning his training in earnest. Magic born from the aether shed by stars? And fate-scrying? He needed no further push. But if he needed one, it was Soren walking in after all their things were put away and signing up alongside him. There was a lot that needed to happen in the city, and he figured two healers would be better than one. A merchant wouldn't do much in a city so wartorn, and for this, Aster welcomed his wisdom and his company. The two grew incredibly close during their time training, with Aster having developed latent feelings for the man that, at this point, he was fine to let remain unrequited.

When it came to Cyrus, however, that was a different story altogether. The man was disarmingly charming and knew how to get to the core of his very being. When Aster started to hide his worries, Cyrus was able to dispel the gloom, and truly get Aster to bare his heart. It was no surprise that Aster confessed to Cyrus, and Cyrus reciprocated. They never once hid their relationship from the others, and before long, they both were sharing every night together. Sure, the others were there, but their more private moments were just between the two of them - no one else.Aster was treated with quite the hostility in the city save for the Astrologians and the friends he'd come with. In the Astrologians' Guild, he'd finally found a lead, and together they met with an Astrologian-turned-chocobo hunter named Carina, the very same Carina that Soren was related to. Setting out, they'd decided to make their lodgings in Tailfeather for a time, building a home for themselves there. For the remainder of their stay, they lived in peace. And then, news finally came from Gyr Abania. A resistance was forming.

LORE : stormblood .

For the first time since Soren joined them, Aster might be alone again. The night after they found out about the attack on Baelsar's Wall was tense, and almost made some of them want to scream in frustration. Aster agonized for a time, and finally spoke to Cyrus. Refusing to let him go alone, Soren stepped up and vowed to keep Cyrus and himself safe during their foray into Gyr Abania - Cyrus had to find his father and fight for his homeland and people, after all. And Aster would not deny him that. Dorian chose to go towards the Far East, wanting to learn the blades and arts of that far-flung corner of the world, and Aster... was not going to let him go alone. Perhaps in the East he'd find a craft or a magick that would let him be of more use to the others. And once he'd learned it, he'd hurry back to Cyrus's side. Making a promise with his beloved, he swore himself to him and promised to return safely as well. And then, they split off into pairs of two, Cyrus and Soren to Gyr Abania, and Dorian and Aster to Kugane. In Kugane, Aster honed and practiced his red magic that he'd learned thanks to Cyrus, while also practicing the art of geomancy, an esoteric art taught in the East. It held beliefs similar to conjury and to astromancy, so he applied its use to those arts rather than doing anything spectacular with it alone. Dorian threw himself into learning the ways of the Samurai, and honed his other martial abilities further and further.Their skills earned them a fair few titles in the East, but mostly around mercenary groups. Ultimately, this would culminate in them hearing about the coup upon Doma Castle and, seeing this as an opportunity to do some lasting change to the realm, they both struck out and fought tooth and nail to liberate Doma alongside its people.

Victory was achieved after a long and grueling few days, but it was done. The celebration feast came and went, and Aster and Dorian threw themselves into the festivities in full force. He remembered how Dorian was his very first friend, no taller than him by a long shot, and how now, even after hitting his own growth spurt, Aster still remained the runt of their litter. But he didn't mind. The moment Dorian lifted him up to celebrate, he felt like time stopped. His heart beat fast and suddenly, his cheeks were aglow with red."Oh. Oh, I'm in love with you." Were the thoughts that played in his head that night. After a few more days, the pair would settle in Kugane, having received word from Soren, Carina, and Cyrus that the resistance was still going strong and there were plans to liberate Gyr Abania that could see fruition. With this in mind, Dorian and Aster prepared their things and spent one last night in Kugane. That night, Dorian and Aster confessed their feelings to one another and made their intentions clear to one another before they set off to fight yet another war.As they returned to Eorzea, Cyrus and Aster were near inseparable, all over one another and ready to fight side by side once more. Dorian and Soren, for their part, also grew close in the battles and moments between. Before long, the couples became something more. Soon enough, the word 'friends' was reserved for others... For the four of them had found in each other something deeper still.Love.And for love, they fought. They liberated Cyrus's homeland from the Garleans, and reunited both him and Dorian with their fathers and people.

LORE : shadowbringers .

A few months after the war in Gyr Abania's end, the newly-formed polycule came together and, using the money from their labours, purchased a small island in the Cieldalaes for themselves - a haven close to home but still all their own. Yet, before they set off to their new home to spend moments in peace, Soren spoke up one day suddenly, and clearly. For the first time since their childhood days, he'd be honest and forthright about how he felt.Within the week, they all chose to marry one another - a quiet, small ceremony, with no one but themselves and the Twelve as witness. They bound their lives together forevermore, and chose to spend their days in wedded, idyllic bliss. What could be more perfect for young folks who'd just spent a year fighting a war on two fronts, after all?Yet, no sooner had they begun celebrating in earnest did they hear the familiar stirrings of a land on the verge of war once more.

The Ghymlit Dark had been the site of a fierce and vicious battle, and the Garlean Empire made moves to rout and expunge the newly formed Ala Mhigan Government from the lands they so rightfully earned. There was no way that any of the four of them would allow this to pass, and so, packing their things once more, they set off towards Gyr Abania and joined the fight. Many skirmishes were had, and though each was dangerous, ultimately they came victorious - or so they thought. In a singular night, sickly, grotesque towers were raised in every corner of the land, sending out signals that were tempering people. With his Echo, Aster was able to protect those closest to him alongside Cyrus's own, but this couldn't continue. They had to figure something out.And that desire for knowledge would send Aster and the others to Old Sharlayan, in search of a way to help.

LORE : endwalker .

The air of the cold northern seas didn't faze Aster terribly. After his time in Ishgard, this felt more like a balm than anything else. And yet, something within him was fretful, and worried. War was about to break out again, but how? The word of Garlemald's sudden and unexpected downfall reached them in Old Sharlayan, but another faction rose up out of the ashes - the Telophoroi.Sharlayan, for its own right, was a land of ever-flowing knowledge, and while Aster learned much in the month he spent there, the restrictions and vicious gatekeeping of knowledge drove him to rage more often than not. Taking this as a sign, Soren suggested they instead go to the birthplace of alchemy, his former home of Radz-at-Han in Thavnair. He'd heard about a tower rising up there, and wanted to check in on his people. And if nothing else, they could at the very least honeymoon there. With no objections, the polycule set off towards the Near East, spending a good few months at sea rather than taking the decidedly far riskier sudden travel by experimental aetheryte.By the time they arrived, the tower and the Telophoroi had been routed by the Warrior of Light, and all was seemingly in a tentative state of peace. The polycule decided to take it slow then and just enjoy their time in Radz-at-Han, which for Aster... that meant throwing himself into the study of somanoutics and alchemy in tandem, becoming more of a master at alchemy than he ever thought was possible, and mastering somanoutics in a short time. Though his mastery of somanoutics came at a very heavy price.

One day, the earth shook, the skies turned red, and a calamity was visited upon them once more. The Final Days. While they witnessed firsthand the horrors of that day, each of them made sure to keep each other safe. That alone held them out until the Sharlayans spirited them back towards Old Sharlayan, in an effort to save as many as possible by sending them to the moon, and further out from there. For the first time in their adult lives, each of them felt powerless, but placed their faith in the Warrior of Light. And when finally the star was saved, they finally breathed a sigh of relief, content in the fact that their adventures still had much and more to reveal. They remained in Old Sharlayan for a time, and Aster became fast friends with a member of the Students of Baldesion by the name of Pollux. It was through Pollux that Aster learned that he potentially had family that studied in the Studium, and that could still be alive. Taking the chance, he begged Pollux to let him trawl through the archives, and his charming smile won the day. Pollux agreed, and then joined him in the search. A potential lead from someone with the same style of birthmarks as Aster presented itself, having long-since boarded a ship towards the west. To a place known as Tural.Sparing no time, Aster sought passage to Tural, but found no one wanting to sail across the salt. No one, that is, until Pollux introduced his love to Aster, a sailor by the name of Caspian who offered to take him across the sea.Once more, they took to sailing across the world in search of answers, this time for Aster.

LORE : dawntrail & present .

The sea air and occasional storms felt like such a warm caress after the events of the past. Looking out towards the bright, blue horizon, Aster held a secret hope in his heart, but dared not bare it for fear of getting his hopes up too high. With a gentle hop, his adventures in Tural would begin, and with magic to guide his way, he'd set off, exploring a land that felt equally distant and familiar in tandem. Tuliyollal was like a second home, and he couldn't figure out why. He spent weeks there, watching Dorian train with the Landsguard and then, going further still towards Urqopacha and riding alpaca with Cyrus. He'd go to Kozama'uka and swim in the waterfalls with Soren, and finally, he'd take the brave route and fly by dirigible to Yak T'el.It was here that Aster nearly broke down in tears. Something inside him, though he knew it not, felt a calling in this place - a resounding 'welcome' from the trees and the boughs. The very air felt... like home. And truly, it was so. After spending a few weeks in the region, Aster came to know of a man by the name of Tenza Viramontes who had crossed the salt with a woman he loved and come back with her. He'd sired two children, and ultimately the pair, for one reason or another, divorced. While Aster never knew his parents' names, he did want to follow this lead. The paths through the jungles of Yak T'el were treacherous to some, but to Aster it felt like second nature, and then, he saw it. The secluded Viramontes Estate, a plot of land vast and open for raising farm animals, running an inn and it came with its own riverside port, too. How wonderful this place must be, he thought. When he stepped through the doors, he found that the place had been kept up rather well, but it was maintained by a man and his two sons. He waited for days before the man, Tenza, finally arrived, and when they shook hands, Aster's Echo - as well as Tenza's own - resonated. The memories that flowed forth... were pleasant and unpleasant to say the least, and in that moment, father met son. Aster was home.

Tenza explained how after the birth of Aster's youngest brother Nikkowa, his mother came clean about abandoning Aster. This caused a rift, and, they divorced. Tenza kept the children while their mother made a new life for herself in Yyasulani.Aster didn't care about her in that moment. He waited with Tenza until his brothers finally arrived, and spent as much time as possible as he could with the man. He knew he had to return to the Cieldalaes eventually, but... He almost didn't want to. That's when Cyrus spoke up."Why don't we just stay here, then?"And so, for a year and until present day, Aster and his loves have remained in Tural, rebuilding the Viramontes Estate into the Comet's Tale Inn. A place now owned and ran by themselves and Aster's family, along with some friends they've made along the way. A true to life adventurer's guild built by adventurers, for adventurers.Eventually, Aster would muster the courage to try and meet his birth mother, but then the dirigibles were cut off - Tuliyollal had suffered an attack, and Yyasulani was cut off from the world. Time passed, and he heard about Alexandria and what became of Yyasulani, and consigned that faint hope to oblivion. His brothers eventually found out that their mother had indeed passed when the dome came to be. From then on, Aster never thought about his mother. He, like she did all those years ago, focused on the future - not one born from deception and resentment, but one born from true love and care for the people around him.And he couldn't wait to find out what adventures awaited him next.
